About the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)
- Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) is the most prominent agency in charge of meteorological observation, weather forecast and earthquake science under the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India.
- IMD is one of six regional specific weather science centers of the World Meteorological Organization.
